RE: Advice needed about Ford CAI & tune
If it were me i'd get a "no tune required" intake for the moment. If you know how to hold a screwdriver your'e fine. Later as you get to know stuff better you can do a tune. They're really not difficult but if your unsure just do that. I have the K&N and it's allright. There are a bunch of them. You wont see as big of gains as with a C&L or JLT w/ a tune, but it will get you goin.

RE: Advice needed about Ford CAI & tune
FWIW I was "struggling" with the same decision for a few weeks (still waiting for my car, so I had time to consider my options), and I finally decided to go with a C&L and brenspeed tune. My main reason was to be in control of what I was running in my car, take advantage of all the improvements a tuner such as Brenspeed can provide, retune if I add more mods, while being able to go back to stock if needed.
Also it's great to know that there's a huge community of folks out there already running this setup and getting great results, and knowing that I can get excellent customer service from brenspeed if needed.
Seeing an actual FRPP intake setup was also a big turn off, since they are keeping the stock tube as others pointed out already.

RE: Advice needed about Ford CAI & tune
Get the latest issue of Muscle Mustang and Fast Ford magazine. It comes with a CD on how to modify your 05-07 Mustang. The first mod shown is a step by step instruction on how to add a CAI and tune. I haven't done it myself (yet) but it looks sooooo easy. If you can turn a wrench and screwdriver and punch a few buttons you can do this!
