Flowmaster or Borla
I would have to agree with people, Borla is definitely a better choice than Flowmaster. They both have similar sounds, deep and throaty, but the Borla just does it better. In other words, it's deeper and throatier. The drone is worse on the Borla, but if drone is really an issue for you, you should consider one of the other non-droning exhausts, like Corsa or the GTAs.
One thing that a lot of people don't take into account is how the exhaust sounds from other cars around you. Exhaust sound is the only thing about my car that I actually do care what other people think, since it is the only thing about your car that you are shoving in their face. So, with my various exhaust combos, I would always test them out by driving behind my car in a friend's car. My Bassanis sounded like rice when I did this, and I have heard the Flowmaster has a similar problem. I think they are just not loud enough or deep enough to give the car that deep aggressive sound, unless they are driving right next to you. The Borlas are still able to retain their deep charactereven when muffled by a windshield.
Maybe not a big deal to some, but it was bad enough that I was actually embarassed to drive with them. Again, I am talking about the Bassanis, but I have heard at least one other person say they had a similar problem with Flowmasters, and I am not suprised by this, since they are both quieter and not as deep as Borla (in fact,I believe Bassanis are even deeper than Flowmasters).
If you are going for the deep throaty sound, don't half *** it, just get the Borlas.
Oh yeah, and they look a lot better too since the muffers aren't visible and that really cleans up the look of the car.

Seems talking about mufflers is like talking Ford vs Chevy.
I have flowmaster 3 vhambers on all three mustangs and my 4.0 ranger has a 1 in2 out two chamber. I have tried all sorts of mufflers Except the Borla and I like the flowmasters, I don't like flowmaster 2 chamber except the 1 in and 2 out for a 6.
The only way for anyone to know what they like is to hear them for themselfs. People have all kinds of opinions and in the end theone that counts is the one with the money.

Exhaust threads always end up this way because it is pure opinion; there is very little "fact" related to which sounds better.
If you are not sure, find cars with the muffs you want and LISTEN to them; get the ones that YOU like better.
I have owned Corsa, Borla, and Flowmaster...and....I liked them all. Corsa and Borla are bothe VERY well made...with the calipers going to Corsa for highest quality; but you pay for those pretty wels and the shinier stainless. They have no drone, mellow sound, but wake up under acceleration. The big round cans of Corsa mufflers tend to be more visible than other brands.
Borlas are also pretty well made; they drone and they are loud. I have Borlas on my current mustang GT and...while I love the sound, it does get a bit tedious sometimes. I am actually considering switching them out to Corsas but I am hoping that once it becomes "top down" weather again, I will hear the drone less (no drone with ragtop down!)
I had Flowmasters on my previous GT......lower quality welds, not stainless construction....nice sound (IMO). You get what you pay for I suppose, but the sound is comparable to other perf mufflers. You need to hear it to decide if you like it.Sound clips tell you very little.
Which sound is for you? it's up to you.....

I have heard both and the borla has less drone then flowmaster and if that is important save up and get the borla, if you want loud and get louder as time goes by get flowmaster. But i will say, make up your own mind its your pony and either will make it sound better
