Default 06 ebrake frozen???

To all the naysayers who say "do a search..." I have already googled it and done it on the forums...and come up with really jack. Someone said there was a TSB on it but I cant find it anywhere.

Left the car sitting for quite a few weeks, finally got it out but it was still cold (about 20) and let it sit for about 4 hours in the cold. Then when I got in it it wouldnt completely release. I could feel about 2" of slack in the hand brake when I would pull it before tension would occur. Then the rear wheels were still under tension (calipers were engaged somewhat) but it was cold and I was 30 miles from home. So I said F--it. I am driving it and if it blows up, it's Ford's problem. By the time I got home, it seemed to be engaging just fine. Next morning, still fine.

Please dont say "dont use it," or "use wheel chocks..." That's crap (I paid for 100% car, not 99.72%) and although I love my Fords, I will hold Ford accountable for this. However if you do have the TSB number and details I would appreciate it. Also if you have had this happen and had Ford correct it I'd like to know about that as well as ammunition if I need it...

There is a TSB on this......having mine done right now. Same issue this morning.

TSB# 06-5-4

"The rear sealing boot on the e-brake cable could prematurely deteriorate which may permit water intrusion. In freezing tempurature this could bind the cable inside the casing and not allow tension to be released from the caliper."

Service procedure is to replace both rear e-brake cables.
