Default Tax return time = new exhaust question

So I finished my taxes today and, since I'm getting quite a large sum from the Feds I thought I might treat myself to a set of longtubes and an O/R pipe. I've pretty much settled on JBA since it's the only company with LTs and an O/R H-pipe. My question is about the axleback part of it. I'm pretty sure I don't want to keep my SLP LMs, since I've not heard anything good about the way they sound without cats. I've heard lots of good things about MAC and Magnaflow, but what I think I want to do is buy a set of Flowmaster Original 40s and have them welded on. I want to retain more of a musclecar sound, so I'm not too big on the X-pipe/straight-through muffler combo.
What does everyone think?

I do like the sound they have, but I've always heard that the straight-through type mufflers sound best with an X-pipe.

stay away from the flowbastards..
first the 3v will not sound like a 5.0 or 2v..
and the flowbasters keep having baffles blown out of them with O/R pipes
