Default CAI confusion???

OK--Got my 06 GT last Aug. It's bone stock now but I would like to start Johnny Cash-ing it( One piece at a time).
I am a little confused about CAI's...why are there so much price difference, I understand quality but is there that much difference in function?
I like the Demolet CAI, but was told I HAD to tune if I used it...how can it let so much air in that I would have to retune??? I'm not ready to use the tuners yet. Is the computer that sensitive?

you're going to be sucking in a whole lot more air than the computer (at stock) will be able to process correctly. you'll be throwin codes all over the place and possibly harming your engine.

if you don't want to tune, then buy a granatelli CAI.

+1 or the K&N Air Charger CAI (Less Power Gains)

Go with the granatelli, that's what I did.

Later, if you want to buy a tuner, you can keep it and tune it better than the included tune that comes with the intake and gain ever more power. That's what I did too.

You're going to want to tune it eventually...Just do it now. Get the C&L or JLT with SCT XCal 2 from either Brenspeed or B a machips and you will not be disappointed. Do some searches and you'll find out why.[8D]

What tune is included with the Granatelli? From their advertisements I thought the Granatelli CAI doesn't come with a tune but rather a calibrated MAF sensor to match the stock tune.

Contact Brenspeed and they will point you in the right direction.. The tuner is easy to use if it is already loaded from a reputable tuner
