Removing mufflers shouldn't be too hard ehh? unscrew a few screws, remove the hangers, shouldn't be to hard.

And no, muffler removal isn't overly difficult, just bolts and hangers.

fully unbolt the hangers and the clamps...

Maybe you can argue that with the cops or court or whatever, but my point is that it's going to be loud as hell. When I was switching mufflers on my V6 I played around with it for a while with no muffler, and even the single pipe was very loud (and like moosestang said, it's going to make endless banging and popping noises.)

There have been a lot of people on here with loud aftermarket mufflers who have had issues with the cops getting on them for noise; no mufflers at all is definitely going to get you attention from the police, even if your setup is completely legal.

It may not be illegal from an emisions stand point, but most local authorities havea noise ordinance.
