I had my fuel pump replaced under this TSB and I didn't feel an increase in power after the service. Drew, maybe your feeling more power by the effect of the PCM being reset either by a dealer reflash or battery disconnect??

You can go to a Ford site and pay for it (forgot the site address) - Or just save/print the PDF file that the link above takes you to. It is the same file you would get if you paid for it through Ford (which I did at first before knowing it was available for free).

If I noticed something after having this TSB done (and I totally had the hesitation after long cruise), it was a very slight sense of a "tighter" feeling engine... if in fact it wasn't my imagination.

Well I know they totally reflashed the PCM, so maybe that helped in conjunction with this fuel pump.. Regardless there is DEFINITELY a huge increase in overall power. I mean just the force I experence sitting in the seat from a take off or just stepping on it from a roll, I feel like I went from a V6 to a GT. By the way, since my GT's a manual it does not have the memory device in the PCM right? I read on here that only the auto's have that adaptive driving technology.... TRUE or FALSE???????

False, the manuals have it as well.

My question is, why would reflashing the PCM (I assume with the stock tune) make any difference? Can anyone get this done?

The computer learns your driving habits over time and adjusts your A/F ratio, timing and some other stuff to how you drive. Reflashing your computer erases that.

Thanks - I wonder if you can get the stock tune on a tuner (Like SCT) and do it yourself every now and then. Obviously way short of a custom tune, CAI, etc- but just wonder if it can be done justto reset the adaptive learning occasionally.

Just pull the battery for a couple minutes, it does the same thing.
