Default Driving on a 1500mile trip.

I may be driving my car from Michigan to South Caroline sometime in March. Its about 700 miles each way. I plan on doing typical stuff like changing the oil, and topping off all the fluids before I go. Is there anything I should be aware of driving my GT for 10+ hours? Oh and I will be buying a car bra to keep the the rocks at bay.

Sometimes those bras create more damage then they prevent. In the wind they shake and rub on the finish. If you so decide on a bra, but top quality for optimum fit. Vary your RPM if you have less than 2K miles on your Stang.

My motor is already broken in, I don't have to worry about varying my RPM's.

I've also heard a bra can get dirt under it and rub the paint like sandpaper. I just came home from a 1000 mile roundtrip from Michigan to Kentucky. I had 4000 miles on mine at the start and I had a great trip with absolutely no problems. My first trip was to the UP during fall color change at under 2000 miles and it was a trouble-free trip as well. These are great cars, so much fun to drive.

I've touted this soo much on the MF people are gonna start wondering if I am being payed but...

Look into getting a clearbra. It is a 100% clear 3m Scotchgaurd tape that completely protects your car from just about everything on the road. Yes, it's expensive($500+ installed), however so is a refinish and repaint of your front end AND after that you are still unprotected. take a look at the link and see for yourself. The site shows the typical install process as well as the finished look. almost 100% invisible. Take a look at the videos at the bottom of the page!

A good thing is to clean your car and apply a very good wax to it. It'll help with cleaning later on and protect your finish. Imo, I would never own a bra, unless it belonged to a good lookin blonde.

Bras are junk, there is a clear finish you can apply that will protect the leading edges, cant remember who makes it.

I second the clear bra. They hve them on all of the cars down at Symbolic. Unless you know it is there and are 2 feet away, you won't even notice it.
