Default wrong tune? help

I just installed my C&L CAI on my 05 V6.. I uploaded my tune that I bought from brenspeed onto the tuner I bought used from brenspeed, I plugged it into the car and tried to load custom tune onto the vehicle and it says "Wrong ECM type".. what's wrong here?

Not sure i am undersatnding the issue with the tuner. Are you saying you purchased a used tuner from Brenspeed? I did not know he sold used SCT. Also did you give him your ECM code for the custome tune file? Your ECM code may be differant if the car has been to the dealer. They may have updated the ECM and now that code is differant from the one on your ECM. Look for a sticker under the hood with the new calibration code. Otherwise Call Brent@ Brenspeed

Yep, bought it from stangrecycler.com which is their new used website. I bought the tune from him...gave him all my information, my processor code is DUR3, gave him that, he e-mail me the tune and I loaded it onto the tuner. It just won't load onto the car. Perhaps this is why this tuner was returned, and he says on the website there are no returns, but they better give me another one, I noticed he has several other used ones for sale.

definitely call dave or brent at Brenspeed. Also they do sell used Xcals from their stangrecycler.com which takes you to their ebay store. They are great and will help you till it's right, they did for me.

I looked on the sct message boards and it seems that this is a common problem that was solved by getting a new tuner

I am not a tech or even close to it, but I remember when I called to order my tuner I was asked for the number listed on the top of my ECM. I am getting adsent minded in my old age so i could be wrong and that could have been for a different mod.

It sounds like these guys are pretty good so I'm not too mad, but it's just so inconvenient that I just installed the cai and now it's dark outside and I'll have to get up bright and early before my day tomorrow to reinstall the old intake

Before you blame the tune scroll through tuner & get the "strategy" of your current ECM. Give that info to Brenspeed & they can tell you if the dealer updated your ECM code & didn't update the sticker.

I'm going to call them sometime tomorrow, hopefully. Might have to wait until Friday, this is killing me!!!
