i recommend going with a slightly older
new edge stang, maybe a 2002 or 2003.

getting a new gt would definatley be cool, but
the stress from the payments would kill some
of the joy....

good luck and let's see pics of whatever you get

I don't know if you would be able to afford a GT based on your situation.

I make $1650/month after taxes. I paid $23,000 for my car brand new. I have a 2005 4.0L V6 with interior upgrade giving me the upgraded steering wheel, leather seats, and the Shaker 500. Also, I got the spoiler and the rims with the spinner caps.

I bought the car when I was 19. I have excellent credit. I also had a 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8L SEthat was only a year old that I traded in to get my stang. The car was in great condition was 30K commuter miles, premium stereo system upgrade and motor upgrades. They only gave me a trade-in value of $6,500 for it which is horrible. I paid $13,000 for that car new! So I don't think you're going to get as much as you hope for the Focus.

I gave them $1500 for a down payment. I purchased GAP Insurance and an extended warranty to go with my mustang. They got me financed for 60 months. After everything totaled out, my monthly payments are $460. I have a great driving record though, so my insurance costs me $99/month. I have no tickets, etc. and a "Good Driver" record. I can afford this car buta GT would have cost me a lot more all around.

You might want to wait awhile until you make more of an income or save up for that down payment. The longer you wait though, the more the value on your Focus will depreciate. Good luck!

Chaosangelxx, i am a lot like you...sports cars were the only thing on my mind from the moment i realized what the heck they were. By all means, do what you want, but your going to be starting college, its expensive, and after you been there say like a day, you'll be wanting to spend your money on beer and A$$. take it from a guy who drank enough to get a small island drunk for a month. haha. the college experience is a one time deal. here, stick with school, keep the focus, no more tickets, and when your out in 2 to whenever (dont know what you're going for) years, you can afford the GT no problem. When i started college back in 01, they didnt even have the 05 stang yet...in 3 years a new stang will be out, probably with high HP and TQ engines. plus my driving record is pretty clean and i pay $1000 a year...i dont think thats all that bad really...for being 24. but whatever you decide you'll be just fine.

+1 on the college part lol. (but i dont drink and dont really "have" to pay for A$$)so that might save me a few bucks lol.
by all means im gonna see what it takes me to get the stang...im pretty much set on that. im going to be in college for about2-4 years for computer tech. thengoing fora job for google when they open their place in lenoir.
but also like 05mustangsally said the focus's depreciation value is very crappy. so itmight hurt me if i wait for a long time (mabey not if i get my job at google).
