I never even thought to let my stang get that low -- but after reading a few post here I'm not worried at all about it... haha

I use mine for tracking MPG, I find the computer and actuals are pretty close.

Well, my experience makes no sense at all: Yesterday, I was down to 23 miles left on the tank, but I could only put 13.83 gallons in. Now, I'm supposedly getting about 20mpg right now, so this either makes no sense, or I'm having a bad math moment. Gee, d'you suppose the pump wasn't accurate, and I really pumped more than I paid for?? NOT! I would have to vote--not accurate on the miles to E gauge.

makes perfect sense. we have a 15 gallon tank. says so in the manual. 15 gallons is how much it holds. however, we probably hold another gallon or so in reserve + the filler tube...so we probably hold about 17 gallons. however the gas guage only reads how empty the tank is. so 23 miles to empty if you are getting 20mpg is 1.2 gallons almost left in your tank...and 15 gallon capacity-1.2=13.8...which is how much you put in.

now WHAT doesn't make sense?

pwn3d :-D

Well, see, I thought the car had a 16 or 17 gallon tank, and folks here have put that much in, but I wasn't thinking about the filler tube (and where is the "reserve"??) so that's why it made no sense to me. I did NOT go out to my car in the rain to get the manual to check it out. I guess it wasn't a bad math moment, but a blond moment perhaps! Have those once in a while...

Yeah, thanks Matt. I thought it was 16 or something. So, still makes no sense maybe. That's good, since I hated to be "pwn3d :-D!" I even had to go look that one up. Guess I'm too old to get all this Internet speak/slang stuff.[&:] Should have my daughter stitting her by me so I get it all!
