Just have to do a search and look at the part number they are showing for the gears...

[ul]M-4209-G410M* $225 bucks[/ul]

[ul]Also you can look at this to read up on http://www.offroaders.com/tech/differentials.htm[/ul]
[ul]It's not about mustangs but pretty much the same. [/ul]

[ul]Google the part number and it should come up with places that sells the "A" brand, then you can shop for the lowest priced gears.[/ul]

I've been doing a lot or research here, I am planning to get 4.10's in the future. Here's what I have learned: There are two sets of FRPP gears, they have the same part number EXCEPT one set has an "A" as the last charecter and the other has an "M". The "M" gears are made by Motive in Italy and are $25-$50 cheaper, and are more apt to whine when installed. The "A" gears are American made, cost more, and much LESS apt to be noisy after installed. When you see Ford 4.10 gears advertised for $160-$185 in the magazines, they are almost certainly the Motive made gears. A lot of better installers won't even do the "M" gears because they know about this. I have read that Motive gears can be quiet, but more often than not, they make noise. So, please keep this in mind when you are buying your gears, in this case, you surely get what you pay for..

i bought my wifes 4.10's from brenspeed, they are motives. I also installed them. Installing new ring and pinions isn't that bad, as long as you have the right tools. I have done a lot of ford 9" installs on different cars we were building, but with this 8.8, i'd spend the money on an actual pinion depth gauge. It's very hard to get an axle centerline on this rear end, and i also found my wifes case to be out of align tube to tube.
You can always install the same shim thickness the factory set up had. Her's was .030. That will get you close, and when you start checking backlash and blueing the gears, you can find if you are off. I found her new set needed .034. I know 4 thousandths isn't much, but it is really best to be within 2. Hope this helps

Seems the motives are cheaper for a reason (whiney bastards).
I'm about 1.5 hours north of Tampa in Citrus County. Hernando to be exact which is like 5 miles north of Inverness.
