I'm looking to do painted stripes on my 07, I'm wanting 10" stripes with 2" in between them. I know this for a fact, I'm just curious as to what it cost you guys to get your stripes done. I don't care if you did it yourself, if you did then tell me what you had in it in material costs. I'm just trying to figure out how much I'm gonna have to save up to do this.

 

Actually, at this point I'm trying to decide whether to go all the way and paint now or just do some vinyl stripes for the next year or two and paint them later. That way I can also make sure I like the color combo, I'm wanting to do silver on top of my vista blue. In the striping program it looks really nice but I'd hate to paint it and have it look like crap. What kind of prices have you seen on full stripe kits, from the bumper to bumper. I am fully confident I can stripe it myself with vinyl as I've messed with the stuff before.

 

That is exactly what my thought was. I went thru Baltimore Street Mods. Rob is great to deal with. My kit from BSM was about 120 bucks complete......I had never done stripes before, so it was a bit of a treat for me.....

Stripes were about 2500 dollars and there are no edges! Mine are 10 wide with a 2 inch space between them. Here are a couple of pics for reference...oh dupont paints used and prep is everything!

wow, paint may be the way to go, those look really slick. I have a buddy who has a really good body shop around here and he said he'd cut me a good deal if I do all the sanding and buffing for him on it. Easy enough, I did my last car like that so I'm not afraid of messing it up. It's only paint. It's still a lot of money though is why I'm hesitant.

 

I may not be totally objective but silver on Vista blue looks damn good to me.[sm=smiley20.gif]

 

I went through Baltimore Street Mods for mine for now, eventually after the engine mods and exhaust are on I'm going to get all my stuff painted on including the rocker stripes, I got a quote from a dealer near me @ 1500 for 12" with 2" gap...............

A mustang fan that happens to own a small mom and pop style collision repair joint quoted me 750 for the stripes and dlear coat along with painting side scoops and 1/4 window louvers. I'm probably goign to take him up on it, he also said he'd knock off a couple more bucks if I help him mask stuff and scuff it up for paint. Not only will it be nice to learn a lil about auto body but I can't beat that deal. I think Guardsmen Blue will be the painted color my vinyls are Ford Blue atm.

I agree...I'd have a hard time deciding between silver, or white on the Vista Blue, though, as both are sharp colors!

I'm thinking about doing 2 black stripes on my Tungsten grey GT, but I don't have the cash to drop on it just yet. Maybe next year, with tax returns...

 

What do you recommend for a 06 Torch Red GT? Interior is red with black. Stripes look great.
