Help! Bra or bug shield?
Does anyone have a white mustang with a bug shield or a bra on it? 700 miles and I've already gotten a chip on the leading edge of the hood [:@]Any pictures of anyone with a bra or shield on the hood would be appreciated!!!
On a better note, just got my 07 GT back from the dealer. They installed a cold air intake and magnaflow exhaust hehehe [8D]

I would rather take my chances than put on one of those ugly things. About the only protection I would consider are the clear vinyl ones. But probably not those either.
Do they even make a bug shield for these cars? That would look fugly as hell.
Bras will damage your finish so that's a no-no.
+1 on using the clear one if anything at all.

I humbly ask forgiveness for contemplating such a sin on a mustang !!! [&:]hahaha. Guess I'll just man up. On that note, anyone ever use touchup paint with success? Or should I just take the pain of a paint shop fixing it?
Take a look at my gallery and youll see my car, im not sure if you can tell when you look but ive got the clear bra kit on the front end, it goes across the hood front of the fenders and the whole front bumper. ive even got a piece behind each wheel
I use the top part of the Ford Accessories bra for trips. That's when the odds of getting chips are the highest. I don't use the lower, big bra because I lost the installation screws and instructions! People have different opinions about bras but remember, THEY don't care about your car! Only you do! If you want your white Mustang to stay chip free there are few things you can do.
One is a full bra, which is the best chioce, because it is very inexpensive when compared to the price of the clear vinyl protection. I can report no rubbing at all for the part that slides onto the hood. Anyone who says it does have never tried to install a new one of this type. You have to warm it up in the sunshine and pull it on, going from corner to corner of the hood. Harder than slipping on a too-small condom! Just make sure you wax the hood well using a few coats of wax or sealant. Never leave it on if wet or dirty and remove it if your car will be in the sun for extended periods, like parked at the airport. Hope someone can tell about their experience with the full bra.
Two is the clear bra, which will look best, true, but at a cost that might be considered too high. Plus you can see it at close range and it won't last forever. And you can still get chips in lots of other places!
Mine picked one up on its last cruise to SB on the side where the hockey stick goes up.
So that brings us to touchup paint, which should work well. I did mine and now, without bending down to look closely, can't even see where it was! And that was just one application! Just be sure to get the factory ones, available at your dealer's parts counter. You pull out the little brush, wipe the brush keeping just a little paint on the brush and carefully dab the chip. Don't go too heavy as you can redo it later (once you find it). There is even a clearcoat touchup paint, but I've never used it.
I'll try to do a posting and add close up photos should i get another chip (hope not, hope not!)

Get a clear bra professionally installed.
It will cover the entire front plus part way up the hood.
It will run you several hundreds of dollars but will offer protection without damage to the car.
