If it's too loud, why not just turn down your hearing aid?

Yeah when I first put on the Stingers, I was not used to the drone. As far as the interior rattling, I've learned that its not a good idea to keep loose change, cell phone, and other random stuff in the cupholder because it makes the rattling noise/drone seem worse. But other then that, Ive gotten used to the drone and I love my Stingers!

I just replaced my Ford Racing Borlas with GTA's. I couldn't handle the drone. The GTA's are drone free but they sound exactly like stock. So I paid $289 for nice looking exhaust tips. (GTA's have great tips). The Flow Masters on my 70 Mach are loud but not annoyingly loud. They have that "bigga bigga bigga" sound. Of course I understand the production of the sound is totally different. Anyway I just couldn't hang with the FFRP stingers. I guess the next thing I'll be buying is a grave plot.
Don't feel bad. I over-analyzed thewhole exhaust thing and was paranoid about "the drone". I paid close to $400 for Magnaflows which netted me some very shiny mufflers, large tips, but essentially the same sound as stock.

I agree about the GTAs, pretty much sound like stock except a touch quieter, just better looking. I cant even hear my car at idle now. Only have a couple hundred miles on them tho.

You guys complaining about drone must accelerate to slow. I'm not in the drone rpm range long enough to hear it.

I didn't buy a car capable of 0-60 in 5 seconds just to do 0-60 in 10.

My biggest gripe with the frpp stingers is the fit to the stock pipes, the inside diameter is way to big on the stingers. If I ever get me a welder i'm going to weld the stock exhaust pipe onto the stingers.

I find that really weird, cause my GTA's are clearly both louder AND have a decidedly deeper growl than my stock pipes!
When cruising they're almost as quiet as stock- but when I mash it they really ROAR.......[sm=signs007.gif]

P.S. hey x-bone, maybe they're only louder on the '07's cause of the way they interact with the TPS......
Another possibility is that you blast your Shaker 500 (or 1000?) SO freakin' loud that you're finally starting to go deaf...........

20+ years of Iron Maiden, Trouble, King Diamond, Iced Earthand misc metalI can still hear a pin drop.Superior genetics. My VForce mufflers sound way better on my 68 than anything ive heard on the new stangs, because these new motors dont have any damn compression.
