I went to the Motortrend car show in Baltimore Friday night. There were about 5 Saleens there. I asked the representative to show me the HID kit because I would like to see it before I even consider dropping 800 bones on the kit. He said all the battery terminals were pulled so he couldn't.

I go down to the next level where they have the "show" cars and there was an '05-'07 v6 with the halo headlights. I asked the guy if I could check them out. He turned them on and it was the most dissapointing thing I've ever seen. I hope people don't buy those for lighting performance.

After my adventurefilled with dissapointment, I decided to stick with my Silverstars.

Yeah, this is them: http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005-p...hts-black.html

They weren't bright at all, and they are more yellow than the stock bulbs.

Just spend the $80 to get yourself some Silverstars for your heads and fogs. They have a new bulb out that is pretty sick. I don't know if they have them in our size, but my buddy put them in his Trailblazer and they are friggin' sweet.

For the HID kit from stangmods.com, will my headlights still turn on when I unlock the car? Will installation be a bit harder?

It would be the same with any conversion kit, not just the one at stangmods and I do not know the answer to that. Sorry.

I just swapped out my projector beams for a set of Saleen HID's, and am glad I did. Installation was a major PITA, but well worth it. I've never had brighter lights on anything, plus the project light farther up the road. The highbeams(not available with the aftermarket HID kits) project more like off road lights. It's insane how far they light up, and brighten everything. Money well spent!
