Default New Gears

I'mabout to get new gears on my 06 GTand was contemplating 3:90 or 4:10. How bad will the 4:10's effect my top end and gas mileage? Should I go with the3:90's or the 4:10's?

everyone here seems to feel 3.73s or 4.10 are the two choices, i'm going 3.73's myself when the time comes

I'm going with 4.10's, not enough with 3.73's. If you get a power adder, 3.73's would do great. 4.10's will be fine but you might be hitting the traps over 6K rpms, if you go to the track and they'll be fine for the streets.

I talked to people that have both and I myself are leaning towards the 3.90s cause the guys that were running 4.10s were nearlyredlinedout in 4th going through the traps and I do a lot more highway driving than i thought i would be doing so I would recommend the 3.90s IMO...but to each his own...

I had the 4.10s prior to adding the S/C and they were great. After the supercharger install they were a bit to tall for me so I changed to 3.73s. I did lose about 1 mpg but overall they are much better for me.

Youre right, FRPP does not make 3.90s only either 3.73s or 4.10s. I believe Motive makes the 3.90s. I have the FRPP 3.73s and theyve been greast

Now, I am no drag racing expert, but don't you want to be going through the trap at the top of 4th???? I mean that means the car is perfectly geared for the 1320...I mean if you are going through at say 4000rpm then you are leaving a whole lot out....my peak hp is right around 6000-6100...so if I could go through the trap as I was hitting that, I would be stoked.....Now if you still have a lot of mods to do then you could be faced with a dillema of trying to finish in 5th or going to a 3.90 or 3.73....But if your getting near redline at the trap then you got it right....
