Default Anyone get Clutch packs replaced twice?

I had the clutch packs replaced last year, about 4-6 months ago I'd guess, but I'm starting to hear that noice again! It happenswhen I get off the parkway and turn into the parking lot!! Is this somthing that is just going to keep happeningevery couple of months? I have 3.73 gears and I do step on it once in a while, not much but once in a while on the parkway.

Well, theoretically it should be fixed after the first replacement. Supposedly the original clutch plates were defective, and they replace them with the "correct" ones. But then again, all clutch type LSDs do wear out, just like brake pads do.

I ditched my stock diff the moment the moaning started, dropped in a Truetrac, and never looked back.

I'll see if I get them replaced under warranty again at the next service appointment. After that I'll go for the Truetrac I guess.

dkano, if you're going to get the trutrac, let me know. Maybe we could head over to MM and get one piece driveshafts too? I spoke to Joe about this last week, he says on the ones he's done, no ajustable control arms were needed.

Hey Rob,

I already bought a one-piece driveshaft from Spyder, but I'm not going back to Mustang Magic though after my line lock incident over there, long story (http://www.listangs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1529). I'll get RealSpeed Automotive to install the driveshalft in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure when I'll get the true-trac yet though, wasn't expecting to do that modright now.

People have said they they replace the stock clutches with some that are less effective, which are therefore quieter because there is less friction. I don't think they are defective at all.

I changed my gear oil to royal purple and haven't heard any noise since. I'm also going to replace the diff with a truetrac in the future.
