Default New Anntanae?

Hey guys, I am looking for some input from some people. I have a 06 Satin Silver Mustang GT and I am tired of the insanely long anttenae. I was wondering what length and color would look best? Chrome or black, and 13 inches or 8 inches. Do the 8 inch anntanae sacrafice reception? Any input is appreciated.

I have the 13in one, though I've never measured it. Mine is black and reception is great.

I have the 13... er.. it was advertised as 14... but I never measured it. Mine is black on my Satin Silver stang... I like it a hell of a lot better than stock.

Yea, I think the 13 inch ones look good, and 8 might look a bit small... not sure. Do you think the chrome anntanae would look good on a silver car w/ chrome rims?

I'm gonna put the black 13" on my white Mustang this spring. I like how it lines up with the flow of the roof. Personally, I think the 8" looks a little short, but if you like how it looks, do your thing. As for the chrome vs. black, I would definitely go with black. Chrome is kind of a gaudy thing, and generally speaking, the less the better, especially on our cars. Chrome rims look good, and sometimes chrome gas caps are pretty slick, but dressing your Mustang up with too much chrome just doesn't look right. You saw the post about the chrome bumper cover, right? Yuck. I would definitely go with the black antenna, and then just choose between the 13" or the 8" depending on what you like the looks of.

mine is the 14" black one. it also follows the roof line more and just looks right. no problem with reception. 8" just seems a little short but its what ever you like.

There are several factors that determine how well your stereo recieves signals including but not limited too terrain, time of day, power of the transmitting station and antenna size.If I'm not mistaken the antenna on the Mustang is a 1/4 wave antenna for the center frequency of the band which provides the best compimise between size and performance.

So you can get worse reception with a smaller antenna but because there are many factors it doesn't necessarily mean that you will get reduced performance.
