Default HELP!! ENGINE FAILURE!!! "FAILSAFE ENGINE MODE??"

Thank god my GT's still under warranty because tongiht im driving home from work and the display starts beeping and then says "Entering Failsafe Engine Mode." At first im like eh, its probably nothing, but after it remained on for a few mins I started to worry. I pulled out the owners manual and looked it up and it doesnt look good The manual states that I will eventually loose drivability and that I should pull over as soon as its safe to. Since I was about a mile away from home I continued home and made it, but it says I will first loose A/C, PS,.and PB but that never happened, it also said the engine would run rough which it definetly did, it would make these nasty poping noises and would not respond to certain amounts of throttle... It said something like the engine is missing cylinders or something... I dunno but the car sure ran/sounded horrible!! It will be back to Ford's again tomorrow[>:].. I just got it back after they replaced rear end gears/drive shaft/ front hub assembly and it was gone for like 2 weeks.... Geeze I love Ford to death, and just wish they could get it right a lil more often... Anyone experience this???????

Oh I guess I should bring this up too!! The car is almost all stock! I just got my Mac a/b in yesturday and ended up getting halfway through the insatll, meaning that I got the stock exhaust off and havent put the new ones on yet. So basically Ive been driving with no mufflers for a day... I really didnt think this would cause any problems since thats practically the same setup as what SLP LM's have to offer.. Anyway Ive done some research and seen that it may be linked to this fly by wire throttle issue... Idunno I guess Im just kinda upset ive got car trouble again...[X(]

Do you still have the O2 sensors hooked up to your exhaust? It could be that the engine's throwing a code and causing it to run into failsafe mode because it's trying to adjust timing for it but there's no reading on the O2 sensors.

Go to Autozone and have them pull the error code from the car or you may be able to borrow their handheld unit. That'll get you closer to the problem.
