Default where does your clutch grab?

i was wondering where the clutch grabs when u release the pedal. i have a brand new gt and it catches at the top 3/4 rigth before i release it. i'm sure this is normal but from past experience i thought a new clutch should catch closer to the floor than almost as u release. any input would be great, thanks.

also is it neccisary to put the clutch to the floor to shift or can u get away with pressing just pass halfway without causing damage

i dunno when i had my civic it would cath at the begining so i would just hit down the clutch as far as i needed, never all the way down. u guess u would run the risk of missing a gear or grinding a gear if u did that tho

yeah i'm thinking as long as there is no gear grindage it is not neccisary to go all the way to the floor cause if u do it takes forever to shift gears -thanks again
anyone else have a differant thought?

Mine grabs right at release aswell. I can push the clutch in about a half inch and change gears without grinding at all.
