Default Keeping your Pony for the long haul. 20+ years

Give me some tips it keeping this Pony almost like new for the next 20+ years. I currently have 46 miles on it and it's 3 weeks old. Haven't driven it in the rain , took delivery of it the day it arrived at the dealer, and have only hand detailed it (no water hose). I take it on a 6 mile ride once a week on dry days only. Mobile 1 will be used as soon as I get 40 hours on the engine or 6 months, which ever comes first. It is garaged here in metro Atlanta. Thanks.

don't wreck it . It also helps to live some place where road salt is not used in winter.

Hah!Be lucky to stay in one piece for the warranty period. Besides, none of the GTs or v6s will be worth squat in 20 years so why bother unless its a Shelby.

You never know how much these will be worth in the furture. Who would have thought that the muscle cars from the 60's and early 70's would be bringing in as much as they do.

drive it like you would any other car, rain or shine, its not like its made of steel, so its not gunna rust. other than that, record EVERYTHING, filling up with gas, how many miles at what date, etc. trust me, my dad collects 65-70 muscle cars, some very rare and respected ones, and documentation, and low miles means EVERYTHING!

I'm not looking to sell it for a profit (or sell it at all). It just reminds me so much of the MustangI had as a teenager. I had the cash and extra garage space to pull this off at 47, soI bought a toy to keep till I push up daisies.

Just follow regular scheduled maintenane is the best bet. I am **** about oil so I change it between 3-4K out of habit.

I am in Johns Creek / Alpharetta...Where are you at in metro Atanta?

Acworth, North Cobb County just off of Wade Green Road. I read the fine print in the maintenance manual and it looks like the 6 month window will catch me on oil changes before the odometer reading will. I'm just a lttle hesitant about switching to Modile 1 before the engine is broken in, but I want to get off of regular oil as soon as possible. You should see the inside of my valve covers on a '99Acura CL and '99 Honda CR-V that have been on Mobile 1 since their 3,000 mile mark.
