Is a computer reprogram needed for the higher gears?? what about the speedo?? ect......... IF you leave a stock tune?

if the dealer installs the gears they will reprogram the Computer so your Speedo is correct.
if you have a speed shop replace the gears you will need to buy a tuner like SCT or Preditor.

I paid $425.00 for Gears, Install, Bearings and Misc parts. I had the SCT II Tuner so a dealer may charge min 600.00 for Gears, Misc parts and Tune. I have seen some as high as800.00.

This will calculate the RPM vs Speed with gear changes. this calculator is for the 05-07 mustangs
do it's very accurate.

as far as i know it's 05-07 GTs have 3.55's with a manual, 3.31 for auto and V6's have 3.31
my install with gears etc will be $400. A dealer will rape you

The 07 manuals come with 3.31s, the 3.55 is now an option (not the case on 05-06). All the autos are 3.31.

I was quoted about $450 for parts and install. That seems to be about the usual cost.

hey guys im new to this. if i put 4:10 gears in my gt how big of a performance difference would it be??

Gears will give you a better off the line zip. and pickup almost 4/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile.
3000 RPM @ 80 MPH may loose 1-2 MPG highway,but pick up 1-2 MPG in City
Over all you will feel the torque in the seat of your pants. I can roast my tires off the line Bark second gear and chirp third (I have an Automatic tranny)

actually, if he has a 5 speed, he can go 4.30s and still be a tick under 3k @ 80
