some interesting facts about colors. what research I have found is that....there is no exact science to this....it is as Mr sandman stated....OPINIONS.....however...Wustangs argument is not accuate either....to just state silver enough said...not...albeit silver was the most popular color based on sales for 2001 to 2004 in North America. White was the most popular based on sales in 2006. and white was the most popular car for over 15 years at one point..These numbers are skewed, you ask why, well due to the facts that most county / state and federal vehicles are white and silver. Also most large corporations purchasing company vehicles lean towards white and silver due to their versatility to add graphics to more easily without clashing...overall. the color war is an opinion. to base popularity on car sales is not accurate. so let the debate continue and let the car color war go on..
When it comes to paint colors, its best to stay conservative.
Colors like black, white and silver hold their value well. Colors like orange, green, purple and yellow will reduce your chances of getting a good price for the car later.

Yellow will hold its value better than most, as it is a very rare color based on production numbers, yet highly saught by a particular niche of people unlike other low-production colors. Red and black are both good bets as well, as they are very desireable colors.
I think it's ludicrous that anyone would choose a car color based on resale value. That said, what are we talking? $200? Who would drive a car for years in a color that they didn't like for that?
Also, looking at the numbers, I think it's safe to say that more cars in a particular color would be resold used if a larger number of those cars were sold new to begin with.
And finally, I am convinced that the rarer the color (Legend Lime) or the hot color (Grabber Orange) would definitely command a better price for a car like the Mustang. Yeah, silver, black and white work well on a family car, an economy car or a minivan, but it's not necessarily what motivates a potential Mustang buyer.

well, I looked at a 2005 BMW today and the dealer asked for $6000 off its sticker. I said no because I just don't want a silver car! There are so many silver cars in LA! So it's a good color for sheep who want to be like everybody else. Lots of sheep in the USA. But bad if you want to resell your car for a higher price! See I'd ask this guy to reduce the price more because it's such a boring color! I mean if it was that cool BMW blue I might have bought the car!
And unless it's a very expensive paint job NOBODY is going to paint a late model car a different color! The buyer would just assume it was in an accident if he looked at the paperwork on the car.
So the thing would be to order a Mustang with all the options and a rare color and hope that that one guy who wants what you got sees it when you are selling it!
I had heard that Screaming Yellow might help due to its being discontinued and that Saleen or Steeda or Roush were buying up yellow GTs to modify.
