Default Blown Door Subs

'07 GT vert, Shaker 1000

Does anyone know if this should fall under the 3/36 warranty? The system is still stock.

Alternately, has anyone successfully replaced the door subs with aftermarket, using just the stock head unit? I've seen replacements using new HUs and amps, but that's more than I want to mess with. I would, however, like to avoid paying the dealer 90 bucks (or whatever it is now) an hour to replace two speakers.[:'(]

TIA

Hey man.. about the subs.. I wanted to ask someone with experience. I wanted to swap out the door subs on my Shaker 500, with these http://www.crutchfield.com/S-EuMJRvc...amp;I=575P28S4

Do you think these could fit with some modifications, and still look stock a grille on it? Thanks a lot.

check these out....

these are made by Aura, if you have never heard of them its because most of what they do ends up in concert halls and recording studios. some of you might remember the "bass shakers" (that was aura). they also make generators that hook up to hummers and provide clean enough power for the military to run computers off of. (check em out at www.AuraSound.com)

i havent used these subs in particular, but i have experience with two of their other model subs and they perform exceptionally well. i figured these would eliminate potential space problems in the door plus it kinda has an grill built right in, they look cool, and its definately something different.

btw, heres the link...

Those are 8-ohm subs and the fosgates are 4 ohm....the shaker amps 3.XX if I remember correctly so the shakers should work better. fosgates are 45 a piece and those are 120....they are plenty more!

It doesn't matter if the replacements are 8ohm...you will just only get half the power output to the subwoofer as a 4ohm (and 3.6ohm = 4ohm)
