Disconnecting Battery

What exactly happens when you disconnect the battery. Does computer store any trouble codes? Is everything reset to factory default?? Does having a Saleen make a difference with the computer??

sorry to pigyback on you... what does it do for a manual... considering I choose when to shift... I know that car learns from my driving... but was the auto tranny ever in on that as well?
