Default Baffling problem? Setting for Feet/Defrost vs. Feet only

This seems to have just started whenever I run either the heat or the A/C with the setting for foot only, I get air coming from the front defroster as well. If I go to the Feet/Defroster setting, I stillget both, but just a little more airflow out of the defroster. Only 4800 miles, so maybe time for a trip to the dealership. [:@]

Anyone else get air blowing out of the defroster when you are on the Feet only setting?

I had the same problem and took it in. They said that it's normal. The service department even took the time to pull in 2 more new stangs off the lot and showed me how it did it in them also. I think it's a design flaw, but o'well, we are stuck with it.

my dodge did that... well my camaro too... i use the foot setting to defrost the window without using the a/c pump... I think it is something all cars do

as a matter of fact. I remember whenever i really got on my dodge (ram 1500), the air would start coming out of the defroster even if the vent/ac/defroster wasn't on. My buddies dodge did the same thing... Like the truck was exhaling or something...

I never noticed this on my Mustang but it is present on my wife's Pathfinder. As a contact lens wearer, it is mighty annoying to have a continuous stream of air blowing in your face.

My '06 seems to have more air coming out the defrost than the floor(when in Floor Only mode). When it's cold outside my feet stay cold but my face gets hot, not very comfortable. The dealer said it was normal, but they only looked at it for about 2 minutes. I worked in a Ford dealership for 30 years and in my opinion if the fix isn't obvious the most tech's won't spend much time to diagnose it. SO I will try to figure it out my self.
