I just put on a set of Pypes Violators earlier this week, and I love 'em! I had tried the Flowmasters, but they weren't much louder than the stock system, except at about 2,000 rpm (the dreaded drone!) The Violators are a straight thru design, and the first thing I noticed was the awesome 'rumble' at idle. Even while sitting at traffic lights you can hear that nice low rumble in the background. Something I never heard with the Flowmasters, or stock system. At WOT they sound about the same as the Flows from inside the car. I'll have to find a tunnel LOL! They are a bit louder around 2,000rpm than at other rpm's, but it's not an annoying drone, just a bit louder. Something to do with physics I guess. Overall the sound 'quality' is just better, a lower register maybe. Anyway I got them from Brenspeed $199 shipped, so a great deal besides. BTW the Pypes website has some good sound clips, but it's no substitute for hearing them in person!

I set off car alarms everywhere with my loudmouths. I was visiting someone in the hospital the other day and when I pulled out of the parking garage there had to be 20 alarms going off, I got a good chuckle out of that.

Why is everyone worried about how it sounds outside the car?

I had Borla Stingers for one day! They sounded good, but inside the car, they sounded like hell!

Took 'em off, sold 'em, and went with the FRPP GTA's....ahhhh, much better inside the car!!!

The sound outside? I could give a rat's azz, (although the idle sounds cool, which is the ONLY time I'll hear them from the outside!)
I totally agree. And I have a set of hardly used Ford Racing Borla stingers for sale if anyone wants them.

Every time I park near a nice classic Porsche in the parking lot at work I set of her alarm. HA, HA, Ha....and Ha again.

When you have an exhaust that is loud enough to set other car's alarm off, isn't it too loud INSIDE the car ? I wanna get x pipe and jba axleback but I don't want it to get to loud inside the car especially as I do a lot of road and with my 4.10's I rev quite high.. what do you think

Unless the video was recorded with high quality sound equipment (I have yet to see one) and you have a kick a$$ subwoofer with your computer there is no way in hell the video will sound even close to the real deal.
plus you dont get the 'feel' of it as well as the sound
