Default Stingers

I plan to install the "stinger" type A/Bs on my car as a first mod. I need a little expert info to help me decide what topurchase. The ones from Borla, FRPP and Steeda all appear (from photos) to be the same or close to the same product. Are the FRPPs actually made by Borla or Steeda or someone else? Does Steeda actually make their own A/B or is it a remarketed (made by another company) item? Are these different named systems basically the same or are there differences in sound, quality, etc.? Any help is appreciated.

Borla makes the "Stingers" for the FRPP and Steeda. They all have the same sound and quality(T-304 Stainless steel) . The only difference is the stamping logo that they put on the exhaust. You're basically paying for the brand name if you buy Borla. I had to learn the hard way because I spent an extra $100 for Borla when I couldve gotten the FRPP Stingers at a much cheaper price[&:]. IMO go with the FRPP or the Steeda version. They cost a lot cheaper and you're still getting the same quality and sound from Borla. BTW thats a good plan to go with the Stingers... They sound awesome!!!

from what i've read.. they do sound very good.... but they will also drone... not as bad as most axle back replacements... but many owners say it's still there...

There is a small amount of drone in the 1800-2100 range, but to me its not bad and i am not in that range often.

Thanks. This is exactly what I needed to know. Prices may vary, but the numbers I got from Steeda, FRPP and Borla are 429.99, 529.00, and 579.99, respectively. Quite a difference incost.

For those who worry about drone... I am an old-school muscle car guy (original owner of 68 Roadrunner) and I actually like drone. I grew up with drone. It is a constant reminder that I am driving something other than a Camry.

^ I like this guy. I'm the same way, I enjoy drone. When I had my O/R H-pipe and SLP Loudmouths, the drone at 65 mph cruising speed was music to my ears. The only downfall of this exhaust was the uneven tones around 1500-2200 RPMS. It just didn't sound right at all. Resonators kinda helped the problem but didn't fix it. Finally the fix was to put the cats back on. Now the car sounds quieter then stock and I don't like it. Eventually I'll be getting new over axle pipes, along with custom 40 series flowmasters, and a LT Setup with High-flow cats. Should sound good!
