set my mind at ease please..
Just got done installing lca's,panhard,tri-ax, and aluminum driveshaft today
This only one week after installing my 4:10's. So fast and responsive!! HOWEVER, I need you to put my mind at ease.. The driveshaft makes a drone like sound under load.[
] Is this normal?? and I know not the gears, because no issue until driveshaft. This is not a whine, but almost like exhaust drone..I have the pinion angle set at -2.5 degrees.
thanks in advance!!

Don't be so sure it's not the gear. You don't have all that wonderfull factory vibration/noise reduction that was built in to the two piece shaft. The thing has an isoelastomer bushing at the break. This equals NO NOISE. I also run an Aluminium drive shaft, solid LCA's,LCA brackets, adjustable upper, adjustable panhard, with FRPP lowering springs. No gear change yet.I am smooth as silk. Try this, and it's free if you set the pinion angle yourself. I did not just set mine to -2.5d, I measured the angle at the tranny output and matched it exactly. I can not give you a number because it has been over a year now andI simply don't remember. But I am sure it WAS NOT a perfect -2.5d. Try this and see. I drag race at the track a lot so I can offer real input into sound and vibes under load.
ok thanks, I dont feel vibration (other than normal), just definate howl type noise under load, especially on freeway. I am hoping it is from the one piece design plus the large hollow driveshaft. If it is not normal, is it usually too little or too much angle?? am I better close to parallel, or am I better w/a little more angle??
