Personally, I think RP is over hyped. I'd go with M1.

Over hyped? What data are you basing that on?

I read on this forum that Royal Purple doesn't meet Fords new specs, It could be a reason to deny waranty. I know we already have plenty of reasons but I had my F150 engine replaced at 35,000 miles & I'm glad it was covered.

Don't play games with your engine oil. If something doesn't meet specs, don't use it. Make sure your motor is well broken in before full synth. I still believe in the every 3000 mile change. Keeps the oilfreshand filter changed before starts to get cloged. But it's up to you. Myself I like Motorcraft which is part synth.

Agree with you. My Ford dealer said to just bring in the synthetic at the next oil change I want to use and they will put it in. He did suggest Mobile one.

Synthetic is the way to go but I rather go with what I have had good experience with. Never tried Royal Purple and it's too expensive for me to even both with.

Redline is a bit cheaper and I think it works awesome! Also, Valvoline Full Synthetic. Mobil 1 I've had no problems with either.

6 qts fills the GT......I would have waited more than 2500 before going full syn, but too late now.

To answer chupac....i have been told wait 3000-5000 range to change to fully syn.....about 2 oil changes with regular then switch over.
