What's everybodies opinion on the Shaker 500 radio. Seems to be to much midrange frequency and you are not able to decrease it like some other radios. For the price, not that great clarity.

If you change out the headunit it makes a BIG diffrence in sound quality. Also changing the door speakers (not the subs) will also help some if you plan on keeping the stock radio.

Main problem ive noticed is the soundprocessing in the radio thats the problem.

For a stock radio its accually pretty good. But the key word is "stock." Obviously any decent after market radio HU is better. But for a stock radio its not bad at all.

The sound processing SUCKS. Period. I've had so many problems with this radio in a month it's crazy. I think the quality is really good compared to other stock radios I've heard. The skipping just annoys me, and i've already had it swapped out and it's still defective. I was afraid to throw my Alpine CDA-9855in there...I may end up doing that in the end..

It is a decient stock radio. My biggest complaints are the skipping and pauses between continuous tracks. It sounds pretty good for a stock system though. Doesn't sound anywere close to a good aftermarket setup however.

The only real complaint I had was I has some very long MP3. Couples hours or whatever. It would never play them past a certain mark...likek 90-105 minutes or something. It just cuts them off and goes to the next track. Otherwise its a good "stock" unit. Get a new HU and replace the 4 6x8/5x7 and you will love the new sound! Even a 150-200 HU will do much better.
