Stock gears, TCS off, stomp the pedal and I can light them up. I just wrote a post about my first burnout....awesome and I only have the Brenspeed 87 octane tune.

Do you have stock gears in yours bro? With your mods and with the traction control off, can you light em up without brakestanding it? The one I rented didn't have a chance...

I have an 06 with an auto. It was a bit of a dog before installing my cia and tune. Now if i floor it from a dead stop it will get sideways, it will also bark second and third. All I have done to it are C&L intake, Brenspeed 93 tune and just installed Flowmaster axleback's.

To answer your question. The Automatics come with 3.31 and the Manual comes with 3.55. Though the others are correct about the throttle lag in part due to the drive-by-wire. Tune, Intake, and Gears should give you what you're looking for.

I have a 06 auto GT. With TCS off, from a dead stop, i can stomp it and light up the tires (at least i could with stock rims and tires). I haven't done a CAI or a tune yet.

Exactly! And he probably rented a V-6 and doesn't know the diff! Not too many GT's for rent!

MY auto GT will keep up with any manual in 0-60 or 1/4 mile times! In fact at Barett-Jackson they had 2 Shelby GTs on dynos that 2 people would try to race each other in a staged 1/4 mile race, with lights and timers. The automatic Shelby GT won almost always, including when there was some Nascar driver in the 5 speed! You can't shift faster than a computer. Ask Hogman! Sp?

I have an 06 gt automatic i can easily spin the tire from a stop,
without brake stand i can just stomp on the gas and the tires will spin.
Same here.

I've taken out many manual trans S197's at the stop lights because most people cannot shift fastenough or consistantly enough to compete against acomputer.

I'm sure a CAI and a tune will only improve what is already very good.

Nice try fvckstick, GT's are rented by almost every rental agency here in my province in Canada. I wouldn't waste my dough on a six banger. Keep in mind I have a '93 notch and it is my 3rd stang. I'm a ford guy! It's not my fault that thing got raped by a 12 year old Z28 from rolls of 30, 50, and 80 miles an hour. Not to mention several digs...I do appreciate the informative input I received from some of you other guys.

Like someone said before, Ford just doesn't have strong automatic transmissions compared to GM. I dunno why.

That's why the Shelby GT500 DOES NOT have an automatic tranny (I wouldn't buy an automatic GT500 even if they sold it though). Ford said it themselves, they don't have a strong enough automatic transmission that can handle the power.

My Auto is pretty fast. I didn't see much, if any difference between mine and the manual I tested. Hell I can spin the tires from a stop with the TCS on.

Maybe I was a lucky one...
