CDC Hood Struts
I'm ordering some struts tomorrow and just want to make sure I'm orderinga good product. I don't want to do any drilling, and cost doesn't matter. I found the CDC struts and they look alright. Anyone have any comments on them? How do they open? At what point does the hood lift itself? Does it fly up til it stops, or does it slow down near the end? Anyone have any binding issues? Any other struts I should look at?
Just trying to cover all the bases. I hate buying something and then finding out I don't like it afterwards.
Thanks!

I love my CDC struts. No drilling, about a 15 minute install. Hood lifts itself from about a foot on up, nice and easy, no slamming at the end. Hood opens probably about 8 or so inches higher than stock. No nasty prop rod to look at......

CDCs are good. I was going to order them but got the Steeds ones instead as a gift. The Steeda strut is good but the dummies at Steeda put a decal on the strut with the Steeds name on it. Problem is one of the decals is upside down. I plan to remove the decals and just go black. It will then look just like the CDCs.
Hereare a couple tips when you install them. Before loosening any bolts for the hood hinge, use a felt tip pen and mark the location of the hinge. That way when you go to tighten things back down you can use it as a guide to make sure your hood stays aligned. See...when you loosen the bolts your hood will slide out of alignment. I also wrapped a couple paperback books in an old t-shirt and placed it between the cowl and back edge of the hood to minimize the sliding once the bolts on the hinges were loose. Do only one side at a time too. Once you do one strut, close your hood slowly to make sure your alignment is good. Then do the other side. Close your hood slowly again to make sure alignment is good. You never want to just slam your hood close until you're sure your alignment is good.
May be more than 15 minute install. More like 30. But it is really easy.

I got the redlines, no problems with the drilling, very easy actually. Starts up on its on around a foot and then slowly comes to a stop at the end. I like the look of the redline better than the CDC. Either will do the job though.
I have the same ones and love the look of the kit! Both are fine but these required drilling and took about 45 minutes.
