Default convince me

ok i have always loved mustangs, ever since i knew what it was, but my first vehicle was am F-150 also a vehicle that i always loved since i was a little kid, but it is slow, it has pickup and go but i want more and don't want to try to make my truck fast

when the new 05 stangs came out i was "it looks nice but everybody has one now" but now i have been looking at them again and have seen people make them look very nice with all the aftermarket parts, eventhough a all black GT with black rims would do me fine

now im not looking to beat everybody on the street, but i do want to beat rice (its funny cause my last name is rice) but not like the evo and sti, more like some pimped out civic which i know it will beat unless someone really loves their civic

i also love the fact that it is pretty affordable
but is it worth me getting in the long run?
is it easy to make it a good 100hp and tq faster?
and what can you guys beat with it stock, not what you think but what you have done

thanks
rich

yeah i absolutely hate that when i go to school, ill see at least 10 s197 mustangs on the way...oh well

some races i won that i remember when i was stock were 3 STi's - 1 from a dig, 2 from a roll
modded wrx from a roll.
three 350z's 1 dig, 2 roll.

and i think all my other kills were when i got my cai and tune...

and is it easy to get another 100hp? Yeah, its easy. Is it cheap? hell no.

You might be able to get 100 HP w/o FI... but your talking almost as much money as it would be to get a blower...

Here are some things:

CAI + Tune
Underdrive Pulleys
CMCV Deletes
Long Tubes
Axle Back
Cams

If the new intake manifolds ever come out it will be easier.

how much will cams give you? cause with the list without cams you have around 50-60. Which leaves you quite aways to go.

Comp cams claims 40rwhp. For some reason, i thought i saw a dyno somewhere on a N/A GT that made 25-30 rwhp with just cams. I could very well be mistakenon the dyno i'm remembering though. I'll look for it. I can believe 40rwhp just by adding cams and a dyno tuneif someone hasfull exhaust (headers, off-road mid-pipe, good set of mufflers) and a C&L race intake. That'd be fun!

I hope you mean 13.0 in the 1/4 mile. That's not hard at all. Some weight reduction, CAI/Tune, underdrive pullies, full exhaust and headers, suspension work, gears, and slicks (or good DRs) should get you mid-high 12s. When it comes to ET, it's not all power...suspension work and sticky tires will go a LONG way.

-CAI/Tune
-LCAs andrelocation brackets
-Adjustable UCA
-Long Tube Headers and off-road mid-pipe
-Charge motion delete plates
-Underdrive pullies
-4.10 gear
-(Auto) Stall converter
-(Manual) aftermarket shifter
-Aluminum driveshaft
-MT ET Streets
-Drag shocks in the back (50/50)
-90/10 shocks in the front
-Front sway bar delete/radiator support

That'll get you some respectable times.

if you are a good driver. you could pull off 13 flat in the 1/4 with a CAI & Tune.

A CAI, Tune, UDP and gears you are looking mid to high 12's.......

CAI/Tune and gears will make it hard to hook on stock rubber...that with DRs and LCAs/UCA would do it though.
