I think most people will say CAI and tune. The tune will apparently get rid of a lot of the throttle lag, and also get you 20+ rwhp or so.
I did borla stingers, side mirror covers and a different shifter ****, cuz I'm paranoid about warranty. Once warranty is up, the CAI and tune goes on.
If you have a few grand to blow (no pun intended), then some will say supercharger/turbo!

but anyways. First thing i would do is order a Cold Air Intake (CAI) and a tune. Get a custom tune from either Brenspeed or B amachips.

If you are worried about warranty, don't make any mods and stop reading here.
Still here? Than a CAI and tune is exactly the first mod. If you have an eventual plan for your machine, try and get the CAI that will fit, (I got lucky, since I had the C+L and it fits the Saleen blower).
Exhaust can give you an increase, but only if you go with new headers and off-road x or h pipes, or high flow cats. New muffler give you sound but no performance.

agreed no warranty problems with mine either.
1. CAI and tune (purchase as a combo from Brenspeed or B amachips or throw money away in my opinion)
2. Exhaust (stingers or corsas)
3. most will say UDP although I still have not done that yet
4. Maybe CMCV ($100 for 10 hp)
the list of mods goes on forever after that.......
