Default My Drone solution

Well i had put on a cat back system from slp and moto blue and she sounds great but a side effect was the drone in the car was terrible. at highway speeds some times it was so loud my ears would start to hurt. So i had tried a few stupid ideas that failed terriblly until i thought of doing Dynomat. Well when i went to buy and saw the 160 price tag my chin dropped and i cant afford that right now. So i tried two things and by god they worked and today i had one of those you may be a redneck moments.
1. when i replaced the exhaust i used the OEM clamps and thought they were ok for the exhaust, well they suck. Each one all six where leaking. Black crap was all around the clamps and you could see the leaks. So i repaced all the clamps with u clamps. 4 bucks.
2. This is the redneck section, in the trunk i took out all the carpet and the spare tire(whick is bigger then i thought it would be and with an awsome lamenated instuction sheet) and put pink house insulation. I ducked taped it down so it was thinner and no pink was showing and then replaced all the carpet and sides. 12 dollars

Well to my surprise it worked my drone is almost gone, down at least 90 percent. and the exhaust sounds meaner. For 16 dollars it was worth the try instead of 160. So my joke now is you might be a redneck if you have house insulation to stop exhaust drone. But i will take pics if any one wants and for how cheap it was i am pleased with the results and you cant see any of the insulation at all.

I would suggest to every one to replace the exhaust clamps if you havent.

I replaced the factory style clamps with U style clamps. It reduced drone and sealed better.

Am I sick for kinda liking hearing the exhaust drone? I don't get it constantly...only around 1500-2000 RPMS. I think it sound pretty tough though teehee.

Just installed Borla cat-backs yesterday. Drone doesn't bother me one bit while driving around town, even at 2k rpm. Out on the highway @70mph in 5th, the drone was pretty obnoxious. LOVE the Borla sound & look, so I'll to find a way around it. Guess I'm off to Home Depot or somewhere for insulation...
