DEAD BATTERY!?
So, I was home on leave about a month ago. When I left sunny Florida I parked the car back in my storage unit. Today when my father went to start it up and drive it a little - the battery was DEAD!!!
No dome lights were left on and the doors were completely closed.
WHAT THE HELL!!!?
1000 miles on the car and its already got a dead battery. [:@][:@]
What could have caused this??

Oooohhh, my friend you have fallen victim of the "Ford Mustang Battery Curse"..arm your self with patience and strenght...you are now part of a ever-growing club of dead-battery owners. Sorry, had to be sarcastic to mask my anger with this issue.
If you scroll around the forums you will see thatissue has been discussed very much. The reason why we had a dead battery ranges from leaving something on, to the shaker radio on after turning off the car, to dud batteries, on and on. I was out of the country for 10 days. Day 7 of my trip, get an email from the spouse telling me that she forgot to crank up the car and thus....dead battery. Got home and sure enough...not a drop of juice on this puppy. Got me a battery charger and it took me almost 7 hours to reach 100% charge.
I charged it, ran the stang for about 30 min on the hwy and parked it for 48 hrs. Cranked it up and so far, so good. So, what is the remedy? Well, some say take it to the dealer, other will say..buy a battery tender, other like me..bought a charger. You decide.
Bottomline is that I have less than 3,000 miles and had a dead battery on my hands. I have an 8 yr Ford Ranger, have left unattended for 30 plus days and cranked right up....go figure. Ford has not really figured out what's the deal, thus no TSB...

Welcome to the club, get a charger, my three work trucks sit all winter & start right up, not the new stang. You can't leave the dome light on, the computer will turn it off after 40 min. Problem is the computer stays on. Most people have had some success (including me) by turning off the radio before shutting off the car.
NyFordTech, I am quite familiar with the search function.

You should know by now, if not you will soon enough, that the search function is hit or miss on this site.
I did a search and all it showed was stuff about the older Mustangs (nothing with 05-07).
Thanks for the guidance though...... [:-]

I hardly ever use the radio and seriously doubt that it was left on. I will definitely keep that in mind though. Just a little annoyed that there has not been some type of recall if this is such a broad issue. Oh well, she looks nice.....even when "parked". LOL
after returning from 2 weeks in the bahamas, i measured
the battery voltage to be 12.62.
i was pleasantly surprised and then gave it 3 hours on
the charger (before attempting to start it), just to be on the safe side.
