'06 V6: Any Reason To Not Go For It?
Greetings one and all! I own an '06 V6, and I've been monkeying with the idea of spicing up the ride. Among what I'm considering: two-stage cold air intake, racing differential, Flowmaster 1-2 series 40 pipes. Any reason to not do this? I'm reading that the intake alone will boost my HP up to 330 with a corresponding torque increase. Can anybody give me an idea of what kind of response to expect if I go all the way - new differential, new dual exhaust?

If your thinking it will bump you up to 330 you better not get your hopes up. Stock GT's aren't even making 300 at the wheels stock. I'm not sure what the V6's make stock but you might expect about a 20hp bump at the most.

Whoa! Where'd you get those numbers? You can't even push 330hp from the V6 with a supercharger installed. Take it from a fellow V6er, you'll get closer to 200hp but not all the way with a CAI. We're talking rwhp by the way, not what the engine is rated to produce.

The Roush SC setup says 330-350HP for the V6. An air intake setup aren't getting those HP#'s. Look around in the 4.0 section. Some people get some good 1/4 mile times and see what they did.

Like everyone else said, you will not get those numbers from a v6. I don't even get those with my GT+CAI+CAMS+Custom Tune. Sell the v6 and go GT and start from there.

Yeh man i dont know where you got those numbers from. A V-6 with a cai is MAYBE pushing 180 hp...MAYBE! To achieve 330 hp not only do you need a gt ( unless you want to invest a TON on your v-6) You need to spend an easy $5000-$6000. And thats with a gt.
