Default Painting Brake Calipers

I know everyone is sick of these questions but I looked around and searched a bit and wanted to get a straight anwser from some real pros
I got the G2 paint kit and the Decal stickers to put on the brakes afterI paint them.

My Idea Of How It Should Go...
1.Take off wheels
2.Clean calipers with brake cleaning fluid and whipe excess cleaner after dry.
3.Mix reactor with paint and stir for a lil while. Have about 5 hours to do this which is plenty of time.
4. Tape off things I dont want to be painted (ifI want)
5.Put on 1 coat then let dry put on another and so on I guess all do 3 or 4.
6. Let dry and apply the decal stickers I bought

So my 2 questions would be:
1. Do I have to go out and get a High heat Clear coat to go over the paint and Stickers when dry. Because the kit did not come with one on account they did not know I was goning to put on the stickers. Soooo...what did you guys do.
2. How many coats of paint did you guys use to get a nice clean look. I kinda just want to get a close match to my car, so what would you geusstimate that at?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I used the G2 system on my old car and it turned out great. The paint dries to almost like a rubber coating. Its hard to describe but its very good. All I did was one thick coat and I had that car for 3 years with no problems in fading or anything.

I guess you could clear it but Im not sure. Maybe wait till the paint is almost dry but still tacky then apply the stickers.

By the way where did you get the stickers cause Im about to paint my car within a week or so?

Hope this helps

Yeah that gives me some ideasI just dont want the stickers to peel or fall off and I dont want it to look crappy.

But I got my Decals from Ebay heres a link to one of his buy it now things $8.00 for the bunch of stickers and 2.00 shipping so 10.00 cant beat that and he shipped them pretty fast deff would recomned him. once you buy it from him then message him the color you would like.

Cool thanks.....looks good but I wonder how long the vinyl is going to last with the high temps of the calipers? Maybe Ill bye 2 kits and keep one as a spare just in case they start looking like crap in the future. They are cheap enough.

Third question...Anyone with painted calipers go to the car wash with this kit? Can you spray the calipers and wheels or am I asking for trouble doing that?

I only have experience with the G2 kit. But I went through car washes, heavy rain, even used brake caliper cleaner on them when replacing pads and nothing ever touched the paint. That kit is pretty much bullet proof.

I don't know about the G2 kit, but if you're going to use a brush, no need to tape anything off. Just use reasonable caution and you'll be fine. A coat of clear is not going to keep any sticker on that would otherwise come off.
