Default "Dealer" cancelled my 2007 Mustang GT order...

I ordered my 2007 Mustang GT Deluxethrough the Military Exchange New Car Sales (ENCS)since I'm overseas in Korea. I priced it with all the options I wanted:

3.55 Axle Ratio
Leather Seats
Interior Upgrade Package
Front Seat Side Mounted Air Bags
Comfort Package
17" Machine Wheels

They gave mea quoted price of $25,443.50 after all rebates applied...which I think is a respectable sum below the MSRP of $29,000. The car was all set for me to pick up on September 10th of this year....3 days after my scheduled return to the states. But last week...I get an email from the ENCS corporate HQ...

Apparently, they can't meet my delivery date of 10 September. They told me Iwould havepick it up early, before the 7th of September, by giving my wife a power of attorney authorizing her to pick up the Stang and in essence...letting her drive my new car for 3-4 days. They then gave me a second option....because none of this was my fault...they would lock me into a 2008 Mustang GT with same options at the $25, 443.50 2007 price. I also have the option to purchase any new 2008 options (although those add ons will be at the 2008 price) Naturally....I agreed and couldn't be happier at what they just ate for customer satisfaction. This is the first time in 8 years of service where my military timeline has actually helped me out.

With luck...I can jump on one of those "Let us test a S/C on your new MY car and we'll give you the S/C at a great discount" deals. That would just be icing on the cake. And hopefully...there will becooloptions in the works for 2008.

I'm convinced the ENCS is the best way for an overseas soldier to purchase an American (non GM) car. Couldn't be happier.

I don't understand why the dealer can't meet the delivery date of Sep. 10th (Monday), but they can have it ready before Sep. 7th (Friday). They can't let it sit on their lot or in their garage over the weekend so you can get it on that Monday? With all the cars out there sitting on dealer lots all over the place, it just seems like they have something strange going on.

Military Car Sales is an awesome program. I live in Germany, and they suspect that either in 08 or 09 we should be able to order the GT500 here in Germany with no dealer markups. But we will see if they will let us order them in the coming year.

Thanks all for the comments.

Truthfully...I couldn't even begin to guess as to why a 10 Sep delivery date is unattainable while a 7 Sep date is. Perhaps its an executive in the company reading the letter of the law to closely?

Regardless...I'm going to happily take what was giving me. Anybody know of any cool options for the 2008? At least my Grabber Orange is still an option!

Thats how I bought my last 2 vehicles. My Mustang got pushed back, but that is ok, I was on deployment anyways. The prices cannot be beat, unless you get an A/X/? Plan...
