Update....added 2 gallons of 93 to mix with the other gas and the can of dry gas. (running the stock tune) The problem is still there, but it is a on and off situation. I don't know if I can say it got better but its only throwing one light now: P0171 sys too lean 1...The car will idle ok.. then it sounds like a cylinder goes out and the exhaust makes a constant thuding noise...almost like there is a lose wire somewhere...? Maybe its not the gas and its an electrical problem? I wanted to go on a ride to meet some fellow sixers tomorrow....still sucks...

Nick,
This sucks, sorry to hear. I know this sounds way too simple, but is there any chance you snagged a wire somewhere when you were fitting / installing your new strut tower brace??

+1 Don't let it happen any longer or you could possibly do some damage. It has a warranty for a reason so let the dealer handle it. If it was vandalism and the dealer finds it was such and you get denied for warranty work then your insurance should cover it either way. Then if you know the punks who did it go after them.

The cars going to ford asap but im still looking into what might be causing my problem...I was thinking the fuel pump is going and not providing enough fuel and is leaning out the engine some...or the EGR system isnt working right (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/egr.htm) as shown in that link what I mean....

I put the code (P0171 sys too lean 1) into google and I found that it has the longest list of sh*t that can be wrong with the car....can anyone think of what it might be? I will let u know the once I find out just in case this happens to someone else...

Possible Causes P0148 - Fuel Delivery Error At least one bank lean at wide open throttle. Fuel System:
ยท Severely restricted fuel filter
ยท Severely restricted fuel supply line P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1) The Adaptive Fuel Strategy continuously monitors fuel delivery hardware. The code is set when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit. Fuel System:
ยท Contaminated fuel injectors
ยท Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel (fuel pump, filter, fuel supply line restrictions)
ยท Vapor recovery system (VMV)
Induction System:
ยท MAF contamination
ยท Air leaks between the MAF and throttle body
ยท Vacuum leaks
ยท PCV system concern
ยท Improperly seated engine oil dipstick
EGR System:
ยท Leaking gasket
ยท Stuck EGR valve
ยท Leaking diaphragm or EVR
Base Engine:
ยท Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S
ยท Secondary air concern
Powertrain Control System:
ยท PCM concern P0174 - System Too Lean (Bank 2) Same as DTC P0171, but Bank 2. See Possible Causes for DTC P0171

I wish I could help, this sounds like a damn nightmare. I know a couple ford techs and a few guys with the V-6 and the intake setup. Ill ask around and find out what I can. Best of luck though man. I wouldhave broken down in tears by now if I were you.

If this was my problem, I would drain the fuel tank. You know the kids messed with your car.
