Default Overpsray question, help please!!!

Ok, my car had been keyd by an a-hole and I had the fender fixed. However, I noticed a little overspray on the door and rear fender the other day when it was very sunny and made it very visible. What can I do? Will clay bar just take it off easily or need I do more?

I think the clay bar should do it.

Yup, have them correct it. (2500# or 3000# wet sand, rotary buff) ...not too comfy though with a shop that doesn't mask off your whole car when the fender is being done... that I don't get.

But should the claybar alone do it?

You can try it but it's designed to remove contaminants from paint and not paint itself, now you may have some luck with clay bar as I assume the overspray landed on a fully waxed panel (no wax remover was used there as was used on the fender). #3000 grit and rotary buff will actually make that area better than the rest of the car as there will be little to no OE orange peel left there. So that is something to think about as well.

How much would it be to get it removed properly. I don't want to go back to this body shop and have them screw more up.

Go to your local auto paint supply store and pick up a pint of 785s drier(its a additive that is put in paint) they should know what your talking about. With a soft cloth (T-shirt) dip cloth in the drier and wipe the area with the over spray it should come right off. Once you do that wipe it down with some quick detail spray to remove any residue.

Hope this helps
