Default Hood Struts

Whats up with the search it didnt find anything on hood struts...in any case I was looking to get some hood struts, I saw MRT had some nice short ones that lifted the hood pretty high. I also saw some by redline racing but they were kind of long, didnt know if they would be inthe way when working on the car...

So what do you all reccomend???

I had the Redlines... got them before I knew what I was doing... but your right... if you are going to be doing anyting in the engine bay, like cleaning, they do get in the way... finally got tired for them and switched to the MRT's... completely out of the way... and they don't require any drilling!

Anyone have any experience with the one's offered by JDM? They don't say whether drilling is req'd or not. Also, whether they're the longer or shorter ones?

Found an old thread with a pic of JDM's struts. Looks like they're the long ones. Anyone know if they requiredrilling?

Get the MRT's they are a much nicer design in my opinion. They allow unobstructed access to the under hood.

You can't go wrong with the MRT's or CDC's.
They are basically the same, but NRT offers a powder coated set.
Some have painted theirs to match their car color, which looks good too.
Easy install, no drilling.
They recommend two people do the install, but I did mine by myself.
Many are happy with the Redlines, but imo they are in the way, whereas the MRt & CDC ones are hardly noticable.
Here's my MRT's

I have the redlines and they were easy to install, even with the drilling. Cant say that they have gotten in the way but I guess I can see how it is possible. I like the looks of them over the MRT but that is only my opinion.

dude it's an old picture, lol.
The prop is gone.
One picture was taken right after install.
The other was later, and I was considering a radiator cover, and figured I'd just take the prop off then.
Once I decided against the cover, prop came off.
I was just looking for a couple of quick pics for ya.
Here's one after the prop is gone.
You can just make out the braided upper radiator hose cover too.
