California Special vs. GT Coupe

California Special vs. GT Coupe
I am deciding on whether to buy a Redfire Californa Special or a Torch Red GT Coupe. I like the Torch Red color better than the Redfire and the fact I can get the interior upgrade package on the GT.The interior upgrade isn't available on the CS. Question: Is the California Special unique enough to overlook the fact you can get some options offered on the GT? I would like the fact that very few people in the city where I live would have a CS. Any opinions are appreciated.

If it were me, then I'd probably get the options that I wanted instead of the external modifications.
You can always add a body kit, decals, chrome, etc. to the outside of the car later to personalize it to your taste. I'm sure you could even make your GT look like a CS without too much trouble. Heck, you may see something that you think looks better than the CS.
The only snag I can think of is cash flow. If your payments are high, then you may not be able to afford to do all of the external modifications you like. If that's the case, then you may want to get the CS, that way, you'll have the look you want and won't have to wait until the loan is paid off to get it.

I like my California Special. The reason that the interior upgrade package isn't available in the CS package is because pretty much everything in the upgrade package is part of the CS package with the addition of 2 tone leather. I think the only thing I don't have is the "bright" shift ****. I like the look of the 2 tone leather, the different front and rear fascias, and the 18" polished wheels. I figured that with all the options I wanted on the GT, the CS package was cheaper...and you get whatever "excusivity" you want to claim from having a limited edition.

I was seriously considering buying the CS because I was thinking it would hold higher value. But after a weekend test drive I decided those small extras the CS included weren't worth the extra money. Not to mention I checked out some pictures of other stang owners rides on this forum and came to realize there are much cooler mods available aftermarket.

Yeah I was going to say the Interior Upgrade is part of the CS. Also what are you doing with the car, keeping it for a semi collector, or do you want to mod the **** out of it and run it for all its worth.........that's what ya have to ask, if you want to put alot of mods and stuff into it, my opinion is just get the gt, and same the extra cabonies for mods instead of pretty ground effects.
But in the end it's your money do with it as you wish and good luck both are really nice
