Where you get pirellis for $76? I saw them on tirerack for $100.

I'll be moving to the kumho SPT's, maybe even sooner than I thought.

for the discount tire employee. Will discount match tirerack.com's prices?

I'd like to know what prices those other tires are compared to the stock Pirelli's!
Can you really beat $76???
BFG's in that huge size are like $160.
Pilotsports are over $200
Kuhmo's $120+...

Are they two times or 3 times better???

I just ditched my P-zeros for some BFG G-Force Sports. I like them a lot. They are very inexpensive, AA traction, quiet (even for 285s), and have a decent-looking tread pattern. I was going to get some KDW2 tires, but they did not have a 285 in 17" sizes.
I bought them from a local dealer. They are 275/40/17. They are a little bit short and I can't lower my car to compensate (my front clip drags all the time now!). I wish they were a little taller, but there are not too many choices for 17" wheels

Do they feel better being wider rather than taller do you think, or what was your purpose in changing the dimensions of the tire?

It was all about traction (or my lack of). My KB puts out gobs of power--even when you are not asking for it. I almost hit a parked car turning out of a side road and spinnning out. It was just getting too risky...
I need to get my speedo recalabrated now. I think I'm 5.6% off. I need the tune file from my dyno guy, but he hasn't emailed me back yet.

...i would deffinately recomend the kuhmo ecsta's.. or the BFG g-forces.. GREAT TIRES.. good prices.. if you want mileage and a small increase in ride, look at michelin, but i think those are even a little overrated....
+1 ya discount tire does have some good deals. i had kuhmo ecsta's on my car before. they are excellent tires for the price. i wholeheartedly recommend them.

I have no complaints with the stock Pierelli's that come with the Pony package V6, and here in Oregon we have plenty of rain.

Funny, I ditched my stock BFG-KDWS for Pirelli PZero Nero M/S. The Pirelli is a far superior tire as compared to the BFG....IMO

On my old Pontiac GTP, I had Firestone uni-directional summer tires and Yokahama Ice Guard winters (awesome!). I was going to do summer/winters on my GT also, but the Pirellis have treated me well even in snow. I'm very impressed so far. I doubt they will continue to impress me next season, but they are cheap and effective on a stock car.

I have done some study and think the Goodyear F1 are best in summer if you can afford them.
