Darkpath-

you and I have been talking a lot lately about exhaust, but one last question for the do-it-yourself guy at home. Are the jackstands a must-have or can I do it from the ground? I'm trying to safe money and don't have access to any stands....could I back the car up some ramps or would the front end touch the ground?

You can do it in 45 minutes without jackstands even.

That's great news...thanks for the advice....

Adding Roush scoop tomorrow afternoon and Corsa's AB hopefully on Wed....Then I'm off to vacation, so I won't be able to enjoy the new toys until next week.

Any extra advice on getting the tips to align correctly?

A lot of alignment can be done by turning the over-the-axle pipe once the axle-back is secured onto the end.Youcando someadjustmentat the axle-back but I had to do a lot of it by loosening the clamp thatattaches the h-pipe to the rear pipe. Have itloose enough to where you can move it and if you're doing this alone, tighten it enough after adjustmentso it won't moveso you can look at it from the back. If you have someone helping you, have them stand at the back and tell you how close you are to getting it right.

That sounds really good Darkpath. Sounds really mean. That may be what I might go for. Was it hard to do yourself? And where did you order them?
I ordered the Corsas from www.autopartswarehouse.comback when they were about $100 cheaper. Here's a link: http://replacement.autopartswarehous...em&dp=true.

You can find deals on them on ebay from time to time. The install was really easy. I spent the most time getting the tips aligned but I'm also a bit of a perfectionist with that type of stuff so I kept adjusting, looking, adjusting, looking, etc until I was happy with it.

I ordered the off-road h-pipe from www.brenspeed.com. That install was a little more difficult just because I'd never done it before and I had to find the best way of getting to the header bolts to get the original h-pipe off (working around the cats). The new h-pipe is much easier to work around. Then I ran into a vibration problem and had to track it down. As of now, no vibrations and the sound is amazing.

I was just looking into the Pypes Off-Road H-Pipe and it says that removing the catalytic converters may cause the check engine light to come on. So what do you need to do, or buy to prevent that from happening. My car is completely stock right now, and I was looking into getting a new exhaust first. Do I need to get a CAI+tuner first? Remember, I'm new to this, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Brenspeed told me 1/2 the cars do experience the check engine light in the first 20 miles or so of driving with the off-road h-pipe. If you get a little past that with no light, then you're ok. I did not get the light.

If you do, however, get the light, this can be fixed with either a new tune that turns off the o2 sensors (if you buy from Brenspeed and get the check engine light, they'll send you the tune for free if you buy your tuner from him as well) or you can buy the MIL eliminators which will also get rid of the check engine light. I believe the MILs trick your computer into thinking your o2 sensors are working with no problems. They go for about $60.
