3M taped louver install

RE: 3M taped louver install
I've had mine on for petty close to 2 years....no issues at all. I knowwhat your saying about the tape not completely covering the back part of the louver, but keep in mind that you will need a little drainage spot so water can run out and not freeze up. Like Gman said when you put it on make sure it's in the right spot because wherever it touches............IT STAYS!!!!

I just got my quarter window louvers painted and was wondering just how strong this 3M tape really is. They are attached with 1/4" stips that don't go all the way around (three strips along each length). It's relatively cold here right now (55F in south Texas) so I was wondering if I should wait for it to warm up to install them and also how exactly to do it. I was thinking pull back enough of the backing to get it past the edge of the louver, then positioning it and pulling the rest of the backing off with it in place. Does this sound right?

I'd recommend getting a friend to help. Have 1 person hold the louvers up where they should go and then mask off the area with tape along the outside to direct the person who applies them when the tape backing is peeled off. You don't want to miss because they stick very good! Perhaps just removing a small portion of each strip could work better.
