Downloading factory tune to SCT Xcal
Hello
I will be installing my JLT II CAI and uploading my Evo 91 tune, this week. Fred told me the instructions are included but just want to have a better understanding of how to download and upload the tunes.
Is it self explanatory how to download the factory settings? Also is it easy to upload my new tune after I install the CAI?
I am running down my tank to almost empty before I top it up with 91 (best we can get here) how low do I need to get it, before I fill up with 91? Currently running 88.I am trying to get it to below 10 miles to empty.
I know this may seem a silly question, I just want to feel comfortable doing this before I start the install.
Thanks for your help.

After you plug it in, just follow the steps. It will state to program car. After it programs, it will download the factory tune. If you have a custom tune, DO NOT change parameters. You will be fine. 2005 and up stangs need not to pull fuses.

its soooo easy, just plug it in under the steering wheel. It will say like turn key to on, then select OK to tune, then it will upload, then you're basically done.
if you can read, and press a few buttons. you will be fine.
oh and im pretty sure it saves the factory tune automatically...

Yes, as the others mentioned above, very easy. Also, the stock tune is stored in the handheld, so if you have to return to stock, follow the instructions, and it swaps tunes back to the original setting, and the custom tune will be in the handheld device as if when you first started.

I ran mine to empty filled up and did a road trip, 150 miles, then refilled just to be sure. The few times I got mine close to empty, I still had a couple of gallons left when I filled up.

Great bunch of people here, maybe a couple of Shelby haters, but all in all a great bunch!
