The vibration I had was the passenger side header hitting the frame.
That is my current problem right now, taking my car to the perfomance shop on wednesday to see what they can do about it.

I would try motormounts... And no, they do not lower the engine at all, just firm up the mounting.

The reason I saw motor mounts over torque limiters is because our tranny is so clunky and 'rough' that if you start clamping it in place then it will start clunking itself to death inside. It needs some dampening to stay safe... I had torque limiters installed and I noticed after a while my tranny clunking was getting worse so I uninstalled them.

Either way, try something.

I had the EXACT same problem. It seemed like the whole floorboard moved when I cranked up/rev'd the motor. New motor mounts will solve your problem. I noticed a big difference in the way power was applied to the ground with my Steeda HD motor mounts. No more shift, wait for the buck then shift again. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but it does.

These cars stock MM's suck really bad. I would assume changing out all of the hydra mounts would be a good idea.

It's not the steering rod that moves, it's the entire motor. The stock mounts are very soft and let the motor move back and forth approximately 1/4 in each direction under load, usually corninering. Mine did it under extreme left hand corners. The stiffer mounts prevent the motor from moving. It vibrates noticably more when you start and stop the motor and just slightly more at idle. Other than that, you can't tell. Just get the mounts and do it. It's quite easy to do. The vibration I had was the passenger side header hitting the frame.

If that doesn't work they can notch the steering rod.
BINGO!
